Have you got your ticket to the Airlie Beach Festival of Music yet? The Whitsunday Coast Chamber of Commerce is proud to be associated with this premier live music event, bringing top-name talent and emerging acts to the heart of the Great Barrier Reef. Headline acts playing the main stage from November 8-10 include John Williamson, John Butler, Smokie, Yothu Yindi, Mahalia Barnes, The Superjesus, Pierce Brothers, Tia Gostelow and the Australian Rock Collective, comprising members of Powderfinger, Jet, You Am I, and Spidebait. Festival founder Gavin Butlin believes there’s no other festival like it. “With jaw-dropping views from the main tent at the Whitsunday Sailing Club it’s the ultimate party in paradise,” he says. “Only in Airlie Beach can you see 74 bands beside 74 islands in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef.” With live music spread throughout an additional 17 venues in Airlie Beach, the atmosphere is electric. Ticket-holders can access all venues but for non-ticket holders cover charges apply. Tickets cost $300 for a three-day pass or $150 for a single day, and are available via Whitsunday Tickets, Tourism Whitsundays, The MECC, OzTix, Big Tix, or direct from the festival at www.airliebeachfestivalofmusic.com.au.
