What is workforce planning? What does it involve? Why should I have one?
A workforce plan ensures you have the right people, with the right skills, at the right time, doing the right things to help you achieve your business goals. Workforce planning can be successful without being complicated. The planning process can help you determine what you can do now to be best prepared for the future, as well as focus on retaining and developing your current staff.
The Chamber is delighted to introduce you to two of Business Queensland’s Industry Workforce Advisors who can help you undertake the workforce planning journey:
- Eleanor Crosby supports businesses operating in the professional services, information and communication technology industries. Eleanor has been self-employed and over 20-years’ experience in business and finance and understands the challenges and pain points that businesses face.
- Darryl Ladbrook supports trades and businesses working in electrotechnology and utilities. He brings to his role extensive experience in developing, planning and implementing skills programs and supporting diverse and disadvantaged employees.
Business Queensland’s Industry Workforce Advisor program provides free support to small and medium sized businesses to:
- identify workforce challenges, develop a workforce plan, and suggest options to address the challenges including accessing grants and incentives.
- refer small businesses to the Workforce Connect Fund for new and innovative human resource solutions.
- to develop strategies to recruit and attract people for their workforce, including from diverse groups, and other potential labour supply (such as skilled migration).
- connect employers with government resources, grants and initiatives.
