Chamber member Regional Development Australia (RDA) Greater Whitsunday is part of a national network of 52 committees across Australia, including the Indian Ocean Territories and Norfolk Island, made up of local leaders who work with all levels of government, business and community groups to support economic and workforce development, local procurement, strategic regional planning and inform government programs and infrastructure investments.
We are seeking highly motivated individuals with vision, drive and passion for regional development to volunteer for Committee Member positions on the Regional Development Australia Greater Whitsunday Committee.
The successful candidates must possess strong advocacy skills and be capable of setting the strategic direction and achieving outcomes. The appointment term is from commencement to 30th June 2025.
This is a hands-on role suited to local community and business leaders with expertise and a desire to generate economic opportunities in their region.
Your networking skills will help build forums which enable consultation between business, industry and all levels of government and develop solutions for regional economic development
Applicants with high levels of knowledge relating to one or more of the following focus areas are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Skills development, training, and education
- Health and social services
- Sports industry development
- Tourism
- First Nations people
- Energy and water infrastructure and supply development
